The Law prohibits importation to Iceland of any kind of animals, tamed or wild and their genetics. The Minister of Agriculture by recommendation of the Chief Veterinarian can authorize the importation on a given condition, such as certification from foreign authorities on disease-free status of the animals. All animals upon entry into Iceland are subject to quarantine measures.
