A Workshop on Import Licensing Procedures and Trade Facilitation was held in Manila, the Philippines on the 7 – 10 May 2019.
The workshop aimed to help officials who work in related areas in different government agencies get familiar with the WTO Agreement on Import Licensing Procedures and the Agreement on Trade Facilitation; strengthen their capacity to use WTO website and database to obtain useful information and facilitate the preparation and implementation of Philippines' notification obligations under the two Agreements.
Over 90 government officials representing more than 50 different government agencies and sub-agencies – ,inter alia, Department of Agriculture, Food and Drug Administration, Telecommunications Commission, Dangerous Drugs Board, Bureau of Customs, – attended the four-day workshop.
